This course is focused on individuals who have an interest in either civil engineering, construction management, building design, or similar areas. The body of learners in this course would have some past experience taking courses in timber, concrete or steel design either in practice or from a post-secondary institution. The aim of this course is to provide some insight into choosing the correct material to construct a building with.
To structure this course in a way that embodies inclusive design and more particularly, UDL principles [12], it is important to undergo careful planning and consider multiple aspects such as the learner’s abilities, background, and learning style. In this course, we aim to capture these aspects by clearly defining learning outcomes, understanding who our audience is, creating an easy-to-navigate website, providing various modes of interactive content delivery and including diverse perspectives on the subject matter.
